Mental Wealth

How well you are looking after your mental health?

Mental Wealth focuses on how much you are investing in your Mental Health. How are you are ensuring your psychological self is rich in peace, positivity and all the beautiful affirmations that can encourage one in hard times?

We’re in the middle of a pandemic, maintaining our mental health is key. I’ll expand on self-care and the impact it can have on our lifestyle. Some minor tweaks can provide big results, I am living proof. There are some fundamental steps we need to take to achieve Mental Wealth:

Pray:

In times of uncertainty we must look to a very certain God. Praying is our way of connecting with God, speaking to Him. Praying enlightens us and brings light into darkness, in prayer hope is found. Wake up and pray, thanking God for a new day.

No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways
— PSALM 91: 10-11

Meditate:

Meditation is proven to reduce stress and control anxiety. Research has shown that just 10 minutes of meditation a day can help you to stay focused and be more effective. Listen to some music that’s calming to the soul, read your bible etc. just find an intentional moment to be still.

Be positive:

Stay optimistic about your plan for the day (no matter how challenging the previous day may have been). Keep negative thoughts and interactions to a minimum. Especially in this time where many of us are self-isolating. Positive vibes all day.

Create a personal care routine:

Try a homemade facial, give yourself a manicure, have a bubble bath, create quiet time to take care of yourself and make sure you keep the gadgets at bay so there are no interruptions.

Write a to-do list:

Tick off whatever you can get done (be realistic) and don’t be afraid if some tasks roll over to the next day. We are not machines; this is also an opportunity for us to rest.

Mental wealth is about creating a safe space in your mind that nobody can interfere with. Call it a bank of love if you like.

I hope that this encourages you to invest in your Mental Wealth.
